Meet Archie....The Sweetest Rescue Ever! Archie came to GRRH in February of 2025. We knew he was blind in one eye and his hip was dislocated. He went straight to surgery and we thought he would be all better after recovery. However that was not the case. After many vet visits and medication changes Archie was diagnosed with a rare parasite called Heterobilharzia Americana . So this started a 6 month treatment plan under a Texas A&M Veterinary Study called "The Drake Project".  Archie's test  results are in and he tested negative on all fronts. We are all over joyed to have witnessed such a blessing. Archie is a special dog looking for his forever family. He is about 2 1/2 years old, heart worm negative and feeling great. He deserves someone home to give him all of attention that he wants. He loves other dogs but they must be a calm, not rowdy and he would be fine as an only dog. He walks well on a leash, is house broken , and kennel trained. He needs daily walks to continue to build back the muscle he lost in his leg however he is running "full steam ahead" when we wants to.
