Wyatt
Description
Hi! My name is Wyatt, and I’m ready for my forever home! Our vet described me as a happy and healthy golden; he thinks I am somewhere between one and two, but I am definitely past the puppy stage! I’m heartworm negative, and I will be neutered before I am adopted.
Currently I am living with another golden, and we have a great time chasing each other in the backyard. Whew! After our run, we’re happy to go into the house for a long drink of water, a treat, and a nap. So I would be fine with another dog, but I wouldn’t mind getting all of your attention, either. I am submissive, so I would prefer to be with another calm dog.
My foster mom constantly tells me what a great boy I am….one of her favorite fosters of all time. I know I still need training in basic skills, but I am easily trained with a treat or two. Most of all, I love being with my family and getting pets whenever I want. I do need someone who is home most of the day as I’m a little anxious when my mom leaves. But I am not destructive in the least. I play with soft toys without destroying them, I love my treat filled Kong, and I follow my foster mom all over the house. I greet guests with a wagging tail and hope for even more pets.
I’m a good car rider…love going on drive-by errands with my foster mom. I am crate trained. In fact, when I see my meals being fixing, I race to the crate! My foster mom doesn’t even close the crate door while I’m eating! She feeds me with a puzzle so that I slow down my eating, but I figured it out almost immediately. At night I go to the crate for a treat ball before bed, and I’m perfectly content. During the day, I have free run of the house - I’m fully house broken, so no accidents!
I love standing in front of our gate so I can see what’s going on. My foster mom calls us“neighborhood watch”, but I don’t bark when people and dogs pass our house (my foster brother does bark - not sure why!). Some of the neighbors actually come to the gate to pet me…and of course, I love the attention. I’d love to meet you if you’re looking for a calm velcro pup.
