Goldie

Description

Meet Goldie!
7 months old and full of youthful energy just like the fabulous Ms. Goldie Hawn. Foster mom says that I have her beauty and flair for drama too… Life threw my original family a cure ball and they made the responsible choice to re-home me so that I can have the best life possible. While I was sad at first, I’ve had a lot of fun with my foster family, and I’ve had a chance to learn what kind of family would suit me best. They have older kids, a pool, and an older golden who helps me learn good manners and plays with me- until I wear her out. I love my two mile walks along the lake, and get extra happy if I get a second one mile loop in the evenings before my puppy witching hour- I mean bedtime. Yes, I’m just like a human toddler and require naps and a schedule.

A little bit about me, my foster mom labeled me a ‘kinda started’ puppy. I am fully potty trained, walk beautifully on a harness leash combo, & I’m fully crate trained (bedtime is from 9 PM to 6 AM). I get along great with other big dogs but have not met any cats or tiny dogs yet. My favorite person in my foster home is my 15 year old human brother. Boy do I love picking him and his friends up from football practice. I get lots of rubs and the smells are puppy-licious. As far as my training is concerned, I’ve mastered my sit command without treats. I know my down, stay commands with a treat. My counter surfing is a work in progress, but in my defense I ‘m not after food. I’m simply inquisitive and want to see what’s going on up there. (I’m 100% certain my humans have cooler toys than me.) My personal mantra is ‘I want to BE your blanket’. Foster mom is helping me learn some boundaries and how to accept the fact that I will never BE the blanket, but that I can sit ON a blanket next to my humans for rubs.

My ideal family would be active, have time to focus on older puppy training skills/supervision, honor my current eat/train, play, & nap schedule by not being gone for extremely long periods of time. Hopefully my new family will have other playful dog(s), and older kids. Boy do I LOVE me some older kids. I am not one to be outside alone and prefer the indoor pampered pooch lifestyle that I’ve grown accustomed to at my foster home. I love the large pen that my foster family uses for my training nap time during the day & prefer to use my covered crate for nighttime sleeping only. After all, a girl needs her beauty rest.
